It was a remarkable day for the energy community as we gathered to recognize outstanding projects and the creative minds behind them at the OVE Digitization Award for Energy Communities ceremony.
The OVE Digitization Award for Energy Communities was looking for solutions that provide and document data on loads and generators and enable components to be controlled particularly efficiently. The winning project comes from Reisenbauer Solutions GmbH.
The integration of flexibility in energy systems is becoming increasingly important. In this context, energy communities can play an important role in relieving the load - especially when generation data can be forecast and loads can be controlled. Against this backdrop, the OVE Austrian Electrotechnical Association last year announced the digitalization prize for energy communities, which is endowed with 2,500 euros.
Winning project: Software modules for large and small energy communities
The winner of the digitalization prize was an energy monitoring system from Reisenbauer Solutions GmbH. This provides energy communities with real-time data on consumption, enabling them to manage energy locally and optimize consumption.
For larger systems, surplus control across the entire energy community is also possible. Users can use a visualization to set what they want to optimize themselves. Encrypted connections ensure data protection and cyber security.
